Teenagers — are you wondering how to get your parents off your back? Men — have you been wondering how you ended up at this stage of your life and where to go from here? Romantic Couples — are you wondering where the love went and how to get back on track in your relationship? I specialize in working with people in these circumstances and I acknowledge you for taking the first step to seek support for yourself. It takes courage to begin psychotherapy. I commend you for beginning that process by visiting my website. Let me say a few more words about how I work and then we'll see if I might be a good fit for you. I assist the families of teenage boys to make the changes they need to, so that their boys may begin thinking and acting like honorable young men. I help men rediscover their purpose and passion, so that they may begin to act in alignment with them and be more effective in their personal and professional relationships. I help couples discover each partner's contributions to their difficulties, and identify different choices each can make, so that together they may re-create the love, joy and fun they once shared together. While each person's specific situation and concerns may vary (such as anxiety, job stresses, poor academic performance, adolescent peer relationship problems, depression, communication difficulties, parent-teen relationship issues, grief and loss, personal growth and development issues, marital concerns, etc.), together we will identify the issues most important to you to be worked on, define measurable treatment goals so that we'll know when we've accomplished them and our work is complete, and discover new choices you can make and actions you can take to address your current situation. My clients tell me that what they appreciate most in our work together is my keen ability to help them identify their strengths and resources leading to solutions that were previously unrecognized, my straightforward down to earth approach (I do my best to not use a lot of psychobabble!), my willingness to compassionately confront clients when needed, and my sense of humor about this human experience we call life. Research has shown that most people can benefit from therapy. While therapy isn't for everyone, nor is every therapist best for every client, research also shows that the therapist-client "fit" or working relationship is one of the most important factors in successful treatment. If you're beginning to feel like you and I might be a good fit, I encourage you to give me a call at 408-871-7353 or e-mail joe@josephlefevre.com to discuss your needs and interests in seeking therapy and to schedule your first appointment. Thank you for visiting my website. You may also find helpful information specific to your needs on the additional pages of this site if you have a few moments to view them as well. I wish you all the best and look forward to the possibility of speaking with you soon. Home | Groups & Events | FAQs | Documents & Forms | Contact Information |
